Veteran Defensive Back Re-Signs with Tarpons for 2019

LAKELAND, FL  -  Lakeland has re-signed another arena football veteran for the 2019 season in defensive back Randall Burden.

Last season with the Tarpons Burden hauled in 7 INTs in 6 games with 2 pick 6s. Prior to the Tarpons, Burden spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons with the Tampa Bay Storm.  2013 was his first season in arena football when he played for the Missouri Monsters. 

He played his college ball at Kentucky for 5 years (2007-2011) and started every game for 3 years. Pulled in 6 INTs w/ 1 touchdown.  After college he signed as a free agent for the Arizona Cardinals before being cut. 

"His veteran leadership will help the younger guys develop and understand the game.  It's like having another coach on the field with him, I'm glad he is back for the 2019 season," said Tarpons Head Coach Michael Taylor.
