Tarpons Partner with Local Orlando Football Team
LAKELAND, FL - Lakeland Tarpons have announced a player personnel partnership with the Orlando Rage football organization. The purpose of the alliance is to develop players in the central Florida area that potentially may play for the Tarpons.
"Partnering with the Lakeland Tarpons is an Awesome opportunity, in which has never been afforded to an Adult Amateur Team in the State of Florida. Becoming an Official Farm Team for a professional organization has always been a goal of the Orlando Rage Organization. We pride ourselves on getting players the exposure needed, to reach the next level and the timing of this partnership couldn't have been better. This is an exciting agreement we've entered in with the Tarpons, that is a Win-Win situation for all involved" said Rage Owner PeeJay Jack.
The Rage play in the Florida Football Alliance (FFA) which boasts 14 teams playing throughout the state. The Tarpons begin their eighth season in May and are already under way with their recruiting. In an effort to find the best players, and help them develop, the Tarpons have created a plan to implement a minor league farm system. The Rage will serve as an official developmental team to the Tarpons.
“This makes perfect sense to embrace an established team with a ready group of talented players who may very well adapt to the arena game and help us get better on the field. When it comes right down to it, players are players and any lack of experience with our game can be quickly overcome through desire and effort” explained Tarpons Head Coach Michael Taylor.
The Tarpons season will begin in May, playing their home games in the RP Funding Center in downtown Lakeland.
Season ticket renewals are under way and available through the Tarpons front office.
